10 Signs of Too Much Anxiety

Anxiety is part of being human, we all have it, it’s vital to our survival. However, anxiety can also get out of control and impact our lives in ways we don’t always initially attribute to it.

10 ways to identify a person with unhelpful anxiety:

  1. Thinks of every scenario and is “prepared” it.

  2. “Needs” everyone to like them, not be mad, have a good time, be pleased…

  3. Questions if their support system, friends, family even “really” likes them.

  4. Is unable to accept a compliment.

  5. Evaluates every past and future conversation, action, even breath.

  6. Gets confused about their own sanity.

  7. Lives putting out one fire to move on to the next fire.

  8. Is unable to accept good things in life.

  9. Feels completely controlled by external events.

  10. Is exhausted and lacking peace.

Anxiety can present in many different ways and intensities.  It can also be a symptom of various other diagnoses like ADHD, PTSD, grief, and depression.  Learning about it and testing new skills to manage it can be really helpful for those who are confused about what to do next.

Currently, The Hope Place is accepting new clients for a group to do just that.  We will begin a skills, support, and processing group designed to help you manage anxiety.  If you’d like to learn more about anxiety and how to apply some new coping skills feel free to register for the group below.
